Appendectomy, San Jose

On Tuesday last week, I started feeling sick after a long bike ride. I thought I had food poisoning or some sort of stomach virus. I stayed home Wednesday and started feeling better again on Thursday although my pain was now localized in my lower right abdomen. Just to be safe, I went to the Health Center to make sure everything was OK. Little did I know that a couple of hours later, I would have to go into surgery to get my Appendix removed.
The surgery went well and I am on the road to recovery. I will probably be out of commission for a while though because my appendicitis was a bit complicated and required open surgery. A big thank you to the entire staff at O'Connor Hospital in San Jose. The entire process from ER to post-operative care was excellent. A special thank you to the surgeon Dr. Gartland and the care team on the 5th floor.

Leider musste ich mich am Donnerstag Nacht einer notfallmaessigen Blinddarmopration unterziehen. Es geht mir gut und ich bin bereits wieder aus dem Spital entlassen worden. Der Heilungsprozess dauert vermutlich etwas laenger, da die Operation etwas komplizierter als normal war und eine traditionelle Operation noetig war. Besten Dank an das ganze Team des O'Connor Spitals in San Jose, die Betreuung und medizinische Behandlung war von bester Qualitaet.
